Director of Family Ministries

Full-Time: 40-45 hours a week: Monday - Thursday, Sunday morning service, Wednesday evening, and special events as needed.

Reports to: Senior Pastor

Education and Work Experience: High school diploma, college a plus. Previous experience working or volunteering in a children or youth ministry is required.

Summary

The Director of Family Ministries is responsible for leading and overseeing all ministries provided for Nursery – 12th grade, and their families. The Director of Family Ministries will work to build and sustain an environment that attracts and disciples Families, Children, and Youth.

Basic Qualifications

· Demonstrate calling to ministry, showing a passion for worship and outreach, personally and at the ministry level.

· Demonstrate strong communication skills and a desire to be active in church and community outreach.

· Leadership, organizational, and administrative skills necessary but not sufficient: love, patience, kindness, and prayer.

· Be a role model for the congregation in following a Christ-like lifestyle, and in sharing the Good News.

Job Responsibilities

  • Help organize and teach Children’s Worship on Sunday mornings.
  • Responsible for Wednesday Night Children and Youth programming.
  • In the summer, provide a weekly event that exposes youth and children in all stages of the faith to the joys of life in Christ.
  • Provide additional opportunities for youth and children to experience fellowship, evangelism, discipleship, worship, and mission.
  • Help plan, promote, and oversee special events.
  • Comp time is available during the week after VBS, DC Camp, or a mission trip.
  • Maintain contact with students and parents, keeping them informed of ongoing activities. Encourage parent involvement in and support of activities.
  • Network with Children, Youth, and their families on Sunday mornings.
  • Make and maintain positive relationships with leaders in the community, especially those of schools and youth organizations.
  • Participate in staff meetings with the Board and/or Sr. Pastor.
  • Help prepare, monitor, and control the annual youth budget as approved by the church board and education committee.
  • Help manage fund-raising money for youth ministry/mission trips.
  • Equip Children, Youth, and their families to make disciples and engage in the transforming work of Christ in our community and world.
  • Foster and promote relationships with the community and its members.
  • Other duties as required or assigned by the Board and Sr. Pastor.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $35,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
