The Consulate General of Israel to New England is the official representative of the State of Israel in New England, with jurisdiction over: Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New Hampshire. The Consulate works to enhance ties between the US and Israel based on working partnerships and a heightened understanding of the values that unite us.
Given the major quantity and quality of universities and academic establishments across New England, the Consulate places a great focus on strengthening academic partnerships on the administrative, faculty, and student levels.
The Role:
• We are seeking a candidate a full-time position as one of the Director of Academic Affairs in our Boston office.
• The suitable candidates will act as part of our political team, in collaboration with another academic director. Together, they will maintain, expand and deepen the activity, presence and connections with the academic world between Israel and New England.
• Reporting to the Deputy Consul General, the individual will play a critical role in enhancing existing academic ties between New England and Israel and fostering new ones.
• This position is highly visible, and the individual will work closely with the Consulate team to ensure maximum leveraging of the benefits of academic ties across the spectrum.

Responsibilities:
• Identify, incubate, and facilitate potential and ongoing partnerships between New England academic institutions and Israel.
• Craft events, conferences, and seminars that benefit both academic institutions in the Midwest, and Israel.
• Manage proactive outreach to university administrations, academic departments, and students.
• Plan and execute visits of Israeli dignitaries and experts on campuses
• Advise the Consul General & DCM on academic affairs
• Act as day-to-day liaison between students, faculty, administrators and the Consulate
• Highly skilled in written and oral communication
• Utilizing social media to achieve goals.

Qualifications:
• College graduate.
• Understanding of the American academic system.
• Eagerness to interact proactively with New England based academic institutions.
• Works well as part of a team but has the ability to self-motivate.
• Proficient multi-tasker.
• Familiarity with Israel is an advantage.
