Glennwood is located in a beautiful location, and it is not required to drive to any other locations as all apartments are located here in Laguna Beach.  Glennwood is dedicated to providing opportunities for independent living for persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Job Description:

Direct Support Professional – Supported Living

Reports to the Administrative Coordinator/Support Coordinator

The candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to communicate and work as a team with the SupportServices Staff and Administration to ensure we meet Participants' needs. Dedication to detail and the ability to actively engage ·with participants is essential. Must exhibit excellent attendance, work ethics, and jobresponsibility concerning respectful communication with participants, families, and peers. Attendance forassigned shifts and staff meetings and/or daily shift meetings is required.

Qualifications:

· An applicant that exhibits a positive attitude, a willingness to work with a diverse population, and the ability to work in a positive team environment

· The individual must possess the capability to read and write English, understand and carry out individual service plans (ISP)

· Ability to input activity data into online system using company provided computer/ipad

· Minimum age -18 years old. In order to drive company vehicles employee must be 25 years old.

· Valid CA Driver's License

· Basic First Aid & PR certification required (provided by employer)

· Successfully pass the background check

· TB clearance is required, and Proof of COVID vaccination and booster - (provided by the applicant before the start date).

· Experience with persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.

Duties:

· Support adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities with activities of daily living, including housekeeping and hygiene medication management, shopping, scheduling transportation, and assist with onsite and offsite activities (art, recreation, sports, cooking, sports and in community activities) of their choice.

· Follow regulations and guidelines for both participants and employee safety.

· Function as a member of a team, assisting co-workers as needed and following directions from Lead Staff & Administration.

· Assist with persons entering and exiting transportation services to their daily programs.

· Document in the online reporting system 

· Promote open communication between the person, the leadership and direct care team, day programs, and and other as needed professionals while following confidentiality policies.

· Attend all training and encourage independence through person-centered choice.

· Other assigned duties

Hours:

· All shifts are available

Compensation:

· $18.00 - $22.00/hour depending on level of experience.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, and or kneel. The employee needs the ability to perform physical requirements of walking throughout the residential campus, assisting each person in their apartment with activities of daily living. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Glennwood Housing Foundation, Inc. opened in August 2013 as a 501(c) 3 non-profit corporation providing non-profit housing and supported living services to adults with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. This uniquely formed program was to provide a compassionate and caring environment that promotes increased self-esteem and assists the participant in developing daily living skills that enable them to live independently, live, work, and play in the local community.
