Clinical Laboratory Assistant
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform specimen patient preparation, labeling, handling, preservation or fixation, processing or preparation, and transportation and storage of specimens.
Assist in pulling and filing primers, reagents and samples.
Follow all procedures and protocols pertaining to accessioning and patient sample processing, pre-analytical, analytical, and general laboratory system.
Adhere to all Quality regulations and ensure all training and competency forms are complete.
Maintain laboratory safety.
Assisting with any clerical duties that may be assigned by Lab Management.
Qualifications:
At least 1-year clinical laboratory experience, preferably molecular.
Technical knowledge of laboratory testing and terminology is desirable.
Works well in a team environment.
Skilled at multitasking.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents and requisitions, operating and maintenance. instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
