The candidate should have an engaging personality to provide a warm, safe, caring, and nurturing learning environment in which students,infants through Pre-K can develop physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially. The candidate must have the leadership skills to guide and inspire our Preschool Teachers and Staff in providing loving and caring interaction through play and exploration to help foster each student’s curiosity and growth to master the skills they need to succeed.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Certification: Must have all the state required certifications – Director certified. A Child Care Director needs an associate’s degree in education or early childcare or a bachelor’s degree in any field.

· Business management: The director runs all aspects of a childcare facility from setting up the security system to developing and managing the center's budget, ensuring financial sustainability and responsible resource allocation. Oversee enrollment processes, including admissions, billing, and record-keeping.

· Federal and State Regulations: Besides being detail-oriented and organized, he or she needs to keep up with federal and state daycare laws and requirements and ensure that the center always stays in compliance.

· Staff Management: Recruit, hire, and train qualified Montessori teachers and support staff. Assure that teachers engage in ongoing professional development opportunities. Foster a positive and collaborative work culture that reflects Montessori values. Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to maintain the highest quality of education and care.

· Excellent communication skills: As the face of the Bambini Montessori Academy, the Child Care Director must be an excellent communicator, able to confidently take prospective parents on a tour, write newsletters and run staff meetings.

· Good crisis management: The director must have strong crisis management abilities, able to remain cool and composed in a crisis.

· Leadership skills: Provide visionary leadership to ensure the Montessori philosophy is effectively implemented throughout the center. Oversee day-to-day operations, including curriculum development, staff management, and facility maintenance. The director keeps staff motivated and resolves conflicts. Communicate directly and effectively with parents and staff daily. Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with Montessori principles and regulatory requirements.

· Classroom experience: Since the director is part of the hiring team for the center, they need to know how to handle a group of children, understand childhood development and have the know-how to establish classroom structure.

·Parent and Community Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with parents, keeping them informed about their child's progress and the Montessori approach. Organize and participate in community events to promote the center and its educational philosophy. Collaborate with parents to create a supportive and inclusive community.

· The director must have a good knowledge of child safety requirements. Have a passion for the growth and development of the precious children in our care. Maintain an organized office space. Be dependable and have excellent references.

Requirements

· Associate's In Early childhood education (required) ,Bachelor’s degree in education or related field; Montessori certification in Maryland (preferred).

· 5+ years of leadership experience in a preschool-type setting, preferably in a Montessori environment.

· Expert organization and written/verbal communication skills

· Strong and confident technology and computer skills.

· Must be flexible with working hours to ensure the operational success of the school.
