Description
LZ Management is a local leader in the management, leasing, and development of residential real estate. LZ Management has over a half a million square feet currently under operation and management in the Madison area.

LZ is looking for a qualified Assistant Property Manager to join our campus property management team. Our campus team is responsible for the daily operations of rental properties located on UW-Madison’s campus. The position of Assistant Property Manager is to provide the Property Manager with support in various administrative duties while working directly with the tenants. We are seeking the right individual who embodies our values and commitment to best-in-class customer service.

Overview
• Title: Assistant Property Manager
• Reports to: Campus Property Manager
• Compensation: $35-45k annually with opportunity for bonus compensation
• Time Commitment: Full-time position, 40 hours per week. Must be available for full-time hours August 10th through 20th.

Responsibilities
Leasing
• Processing rental applications
• Create and maintain lease and property files
• Learn and implement LZ’s lease agreements, leasing policies and processes
• Conduct property tours to prospective renters
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local Fair Housing Laws and Standards
Marketing
• Assist with campus outreach and in-house events
• Assist with development of creative for signage, advertisements, social media posts, etc.
• Create digital assets using Canva software
• Work on miscellaneous projects as they arise
Property Management
• Provide prompt and thorough customer service to tenants
• Develop a complete understanding of the assigned properties and their operations
• Quickly learn and use internal property management software system (Appfolio)
• Assist with tenant turnover coordination
• Perform routine site inspections in accordance with LZ policy
• Assist with advising Property Manager of conditions at the community affecting tenant safety/dissatisfaction or the property’s preservation
Business Management
• Oversee Java Den staff and scheduling
• Conduct and maintain inventory
• Monitor budget and perform accounting tasks
• Contribute ideas, thoughts, and solutions that result in increased productivity, higher retention, and improved operations

Requirements
Professional
• Proficiency with Microsoft products: Excel, Word, and Teams
• Strong time-management and organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Great communication skills, both verbal and written
• Maintain professional dress and conduct through quality of work, punctuality, attendance, and attitude
• Show initiative and ability to exhibit working knowledge of the field
• Maintain a good working relationship with peers and demonstrate leadership qualities

Physical
• Ability to lift 20lbs.
• Work in an office setting
• Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time
• Ability to be on your feet for an extended period of time
• Ability to write and/or type for an extended period of time
• Ability to travel between properties in Madison area

High school degree or equivalent required. Experience in real estate or hospitality preferred. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
