The Delaware Adolescent Program, Inc. (DAPI), a statewide alternative academic setting for pregnant and parenting teens, seeks an Administrative Assistant within the New Castle County Center, which is an educational setting.

This position consists of 35-plus hours per week. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a fast learner who pays attention to details, hardworking, enjoys working with/around teen girls, teachers, and volunteers, and can perform proficiently in a fast-paced environment, with a reliably strong work ethic. The right person comes to work each day ready to meet the challenges of a school program for pregnant/parenting teen girls. It's fun, exciting, and never a dull moment, but the work must get done. Responsibilities include but are not limited to general office duties, pays attention to details when communicating with all stakeholders, excellent organizational skills, pleasantly answers and directs phone calls, data input into our web-based learning management system, organizes files, and orders supplies within a specified budget; kindly communicates clearly and confidently on the telephone, in person, and in writing; administratively supports the Center Director, Social Worker, and Nurse, teachers, occasionally other internal organizational leaders, facilitate help for outside educational entities, and the students in a cooperative manner.

Education: High School Req. AA - preferred. This position would be great for recent graduates or recent retirees w/ strong, current computer skills. EEO.

Experience: Administrative Experiences preferred.

This is a 12-month position. Administrative experience is required. Bi-lingual a PLUS. Must dress daily for a professional environment as there is daily contact with the public. Must maintain a neat work environment at all times. Maintains consistent attendance due to the critical work done in the office. Tracks the food program and the transportation program. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in written.
