About Thomas Point Capital LLC:

Thomas Point Capital is a type of small nontraditional private equity firm known as a search fund. We are an investment vehicle through which investors financially support an entrepreneur's effort to locate, acquire, manage and grow a privately held company. Unlike a traditional private equity firm, whose principals typically purchase multiple businesses and hire operators to run them before flipping them for a profit, Thomas Point will acquire just one business, operate it upon acquisition, and run the business for the long-term.


Intern Role and Responsibilities:

We are looking for interns to help manage a multi-stage high volume deal funnel in the most efficient way possible. Most of the daily work will consist of searching through databases, building contact lists, and researching industries to source deals that match our investment criteria. This is an unpaid internship, and we strive to create a learning environment that will benefit you while adding value during the search process. You will work directly for Thomas Point’s founder.

Work will include:
• Identifying and researching industries of interest
• Building broker and business contact lists
• Managing a mass email campaign in search of prospective sellers
• Refining email and outreach templates
• Assisting with various administrative tasks in support of the sourcing process

You will gain exposure to the entire process of buying and selling a business that includes:
• Raising capital and investor relations
• Financial analysis
• Mass communication campaigns
• The due diligence and deal negotiation process
• What it takes to build a search fund from the ground up


Basic Qualifications
• Strong command of the English language and written communication
• Located in the Washington D.C./Northern Virginia area
• Available 20+ hours a week w/ the ability to work remotely (ie. access to a personal laptop computer)
• Experience with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and Word
• Strong analytic abilities and a keen interest in business
• Motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail
