DESIGN, MEDIA, & MAKER EXPERIENCE
Curatorial and Media Intern, Collar Works and Elizabeth Murray Artist Residency, Troy, NY May 2020-August 2020
� I worked with Collar Work's sister-organization - Elizabeth Murray Artist Residency - an artist residency based out of Granville, NY where underrepresented emerging artists are able to learn and collaborate with other artists & create their own work during the summer.
� I designed social media & other online content which included researching, writing, & designing displays for all 14 EMAR recipients.
TerraCycle & Loop Store, Trenton, NJ July-August 2019
� Co-led the interior design renovation of the Loop Store office space which included research on creating huddle spaces, a timeline of the Loop Store that demonstrates consumerism and waste, sound absorption methods, packaging display designs, seating and desk arrangements, flooring materials and designs, the dimensions of the area, as well as feedback from Loop Store employees.
� Used various tools such as a heat compressor, saw stop, miter saw, 14" band saw, 15.5" drill press, and power drills to create upcycled frames, ribbons, bracelets, and art installations.
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
Environmental Studies Senior Capstone: Outcomes of Environmental Education (EE) at Radix September 2019-May 2020
� Worked with three other students to create a year-long analysis and research paper about EE at Radix Ecological Sustainability Center in Albany, NY. We conducted interviews with high school and University of Albany students, community members, and influential stakeholders about the Environmental Education programs that Radix implements. We additionally added aspects of Environmental Art and Environmental Recreation into the curriculum to demonstrate their benefits to EE.
Compost Manager, Sustainability Office at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs NY September 2019-May 2020
� Co-managed a student-run composting program that services the Northwoods and Sussman apartment villages with more than 600 students living in these villages. We were able to divert over 50,000 pounds of food waste from the landfill which prevents harmful greenhouse gas emissions.
Earthship Biotecture Academy, Taos, NM June 2019
� Learning every in and out of how to build an Earthship. Earthships are self-sustaining homes completely off grid that utilize solar and thermal energy dynamics for electricity and heat, rainwater collection tanks, food production, grey water sewage systems, and are completely built out of natural, recycled, and waste materials.
Education and Outreach Sustainability Representative, Sustainability Office at Skidmore College, NY January 2017-May 2018
� Educated students and faculty on sustainable living practices through organizing and executing waste diversion efforts which in turn helped the office to receive grants for new and improved waste and recycling bins. The S-Reps planned sustainability-related events throughout the year, engaged in campus-related sustainability research, and acted as a sustainable living example for the community.
FARMING AND GARDENING
Farmer, Featherbed Lane Farm, Ballston Spa, NY May 2020-August 2020
� Worked mostly with vegetable production, which included seeding and greenhouse management, transplanting, cultivation and pest control, watering, weeding, harvesting, and storage during all weather conditions for around 20 hours a week.
� Featherbed Lane Farm is a CSA (community supported agriculture) farm that uses only human and horse powered machinery to cultivate.
City Harvest Community Garden Volunteer, Philadelphia, PA July-August 2019
� Helped gardening, harvesting, and delivering vegetables, amounting to 800 pounds, with City Harvest for food for the elderly community
OUTDOOR RECREATION
Ranger, Catalina Island Company, Santa Catalina Island, CA June-August 2018
� Main duties included keeping a campground with a maximum capacity of 478 organized and content. Other duties included tending to campground customers� needs, fixing maintenance issues, collecting waste, and delivering firewood and potable water to campgrounds.
Leader and Event Coordinator, Outing Club, Skidmore College, Outing Club September 2016-May 2020
� Led numerous off and on-campus hiking, overnight camping, and indoor-climbing trips � mostly in the Adirondack State Park and at Rocksport. Additionally led 2 two-week-long road trips from upstate NY to Cumberland Island Nat. Seashore Ocala National Forest. Additionally, coordinated Mountainfilm on Tour in 2018, a traveling and prestigious film festival, to present at Skidmore College. Downhill snow-skied 2-3 times per week from 2017-2020 at Gore Mountain Ski Resort. Updated and published all events on SkidSync, a website designed to advertise club events to students on campus.
