Grounds Person - City of Kirkland Parks and Community Services
Kirkland, WA September 2018 - November 2018, April 2019 - December 2020
Performed specialized services as a designated member of the Horticulture crew during the first year, including extensive maintenance of downtown waterfront parks.
Transferred and assisted with the establishment of the Natural Parks division in early 2020, shifting focus to service in parks with larger green spaces and enrolled restoration management units (RMUs) through the Green Kirkland Partnership.
Served as the full time staff on duty for the closing shift during the summer of 2019, often supervising multiple seasonal crew members. Consistently ensured that time was managed effectively and work was performed to a high quality.
Utilized and developed a wide variety of skills including (but not limited to) park planning, native and invasive species management, arboriculture, general grounds care, tool maintenance, ballfield preparation, and volunteer organization.

Assistant Crew Supervisor - Washington Conservation Corps
Renton, WA October 2016 - September 2018
Native plant installation and invasive species mitigation such as herbicide application, hand removal, and mowing vegetation. Crew was contracted by the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks.
Completed trail construction and maintenance projects in the Tiger Mountain State Forest and surrounding areas. Work involved drain clearing, rock wall construction, bridge maintenance, and creation of new trail systems.
Use of and maintenance of hand and power tools including McLeods, Pulaskis, pick mattocks, hoes, brush cutters, chainsaws, toters, and grip hoist machines.
Participated in two deployments for natural disaster cleanup. Work involved traveling to state of event and assisting in the management of the AmeriCorps volunteer network, as well as field work such as tarping roofs and deconstructing damaged homes.

Silviculture Forestry Aide - U.S. Forest Service: High Sierra Ranger District
Prather, California May 2016 - September 2016
Assisted with silviculture and timber-related assignments including herbicide application, brush cutting, tree falling, mortality plot surveys, and stand exams.
Learned to identify native and invasive species found local to the forest, and assisted with herbicide application.

Field Crew Member - Southern California Mountains Foundation
San Bernardino, CA December 2015 - April 2016
Partnered with the Southern California Mountains Foundation and the U.S. Forest Service to coordinate and facilitate trash clean-up days, nature classes for elementary schools, and volunteer planting days for the community.
Received training and developed skills in greenhouse management, safety procedures, native plant identification, and trail maintenance.
