Walters Farm’s is my family farm and I run everything along with my father. Work includes operating machinery, upkeep equipment, lawn and tree care, keeping all the barns and equipment in an organized fashion, and any other day to day chores. I also have my part of the farm with is beef bottle calves and their daily care. I have a very structured book keeping system to keep track of them all, along with that the feeding and cleaning responsibilities of the calves.

May 2019 – Current
Bookkeeper/Scale Operator
Dunkerton Coop – Dunkerton, IA
?When I started at Dunkerton Coop, I was in the Agronomy department and I worked mixing chemicals and loading tender trucks. Once things began to slow down, I did scouting when needed but I began working in the maintenance shop, taking care off all of the billing and invoices. I have done extensive work with excel, creating and updating worksheets. While working with customers on a daily basis I also work in any department or anywhere that needs extra help on top of my regular billing work to do.

May 2018 – November 2018
Field Scout / Scale Operator
East Central Iowa Co-op – Hudson and Cedar Falls, IA
Over the summer of 2018 I had an internship opportunity with ECIC. While working with them my duties included routine checkups for weeds and pests on many different fields. Then do research to come up with a recommendation for herbicides or pesticides. I would then present the information to the agronomist. He would go through it with me and discuss any errors in my recommendations to insure I can improve for next time.
I also kept tract of two fields where they were comparing the herbicides Warrant and Zidua Pro. I kept a book with the comparisons and also made a full presentation and slideshow to show the differences observed.
I helped plant the Hawkeye Community College corn and soybean test plots and kept track of them over the course of the summer.
I did many other things while working there from delivering seed to bookwork. I spent time operating the drone to view any patterns created in the field, mainly focusing on anhydrous striping’s. I also planned on observing and tracking the benefits/disadvantages of laying anhydrous at an angle or straight on by measuring the color, heights and production of the crops in the fields and the distance from the anhydrous line.
During the fall I transitioned to more of the office side of things helping with billing and operating the scales at the Cedar Falls location.

I trained a couple new employees over the years I worked there.
