Field Associate – North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences May 2018- August 2018
Supervisor: Dr. Roland Kays
Worked as a camera trapper for the NC’s Candid Critters project
Identified areas as either high or low animal traffic areas
Set up cameras in high animal traffic areas to capture images of mammals
Uploaded and identified pictures of mammals using the eMammal software
Coordinated trips into the field with interns
Supervised interns in field collection
Worked with land managers to identify and help eradicate invasive species


Nature Assistant – Dan Nicholas Park Nature Center May 2016 – December 2017
Supervisor: Bob Pendergrass
Responsible for the daily upkeep of many of North Carolina’s fauna and flora – cleaning and repairing habitats, building new habitats, preparing diets
Responsible for the beautification and upkeep of nature center facilities – painting, staining, repair work on buildings/fences.
Educated the public about the animals in our collection – including conservation efforts of endangered species
Often worked with other employees to make sure animals’ quality of life remained high – provided enrichment to stimulate natural behaviors
Removed invasive plant species from around walkways and animal enclosures, using hands, weed-eater and chainsaw.
Maintained native plant species.
