As a graduating senior at Western Kentucky University, I have gained an extensive amount of knowledge and experience that will help me move forward in my career. During my time in school, I was given the opportunity to host and market events for HBO GO on campus as a student ambassador for Riddle and Bloom, work as a Social Media Manager for my on-campus job, the Outdoor Recreation and Adventure Center and Camp Lonehollow, and get an internship in sports media with the football team. For both social media manager jobs, it was my responsibility to increase community engagement on Instagram and post events that were happening. Along with posting for Instagram, at Camp Lonehollow I was in charge of the daily newsletter, blog posts, and running the other social media accounts, Twitter and Facebook.
Between both jobs, I was able to bring awareness to both companies by engaging with the community and keeping the accounts up to date on current events, such as weekend trips and adventure races. Due to the positive feedback from both supervisors and the communities, this is a satisfying accomplishment for my work. While continuing my on-campus job, I am hard at work at my internship filming the football team and gaining experience in videography. This internship will help me broaden my experience within the digital media spectrum while also challenging myself within a multitasking, high-speed area.
