Field Assistant March 2017
• Assisted in a project to relate aerial imagery to ground measurements in hopes to create a model that can accurately classify habitat types from future satellite measurements
• Helped a Postdoctoral Research Scientist take coordinates via GPS, collect transects, and anchor the boat
• Used snorkel gear to complete a series of phototransects on various patch reefs of Kaneohe Bay
Inner Cabrillo Beach Survey June 2016
Volunteer
• Participated in a long-term project at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, worked with local professors and CMA staff
• Collected animals using a beach seine extending from the ocean floor to the surface at three different locations in the inner tidal zone
• Identified, counted, measured, and weighed the various fish and invertebrate species
