RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY, VCU, RICHMOND, VA, AUGUST 2014 TO MAY 2020
GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT
• Designed and developed a new method to functionalize the silicon wafer with COOH groups, utilizing the sol-gel chemistry of silane.
• Established a Programmed Controlled-Rate Infusion (P-CRI) method to fabricate multicomponent synthetic-chemical gradients (aligned and opposed) using NH2 and COOH sol.
• Determined the elemental composition and surface charge of chemical gradients by XPS and electrokinetic measurements (Zeta potential) respectively.
• Investigated the pH-tunability of physicochemical properties (e.g. wettability, surface charge) on the surface of NH2/COOH multicomponent chemical gradients.
• Created a new methodology for the ellipsometric measurement (film-thickness) of self-assembled monolayers on TMOS-coated silicon wafer.

TEACHING AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY, VCU, RICHMOND, VA, AUGUST 2014 TO JULY 2019
GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT
• Taught general chemistry 101/102 and organic chemistry 302 labs (2 classes per semester).
• Supported students with their assignment problems during office hours.
• Graded weekly reports, quizzes, and exams and provided performance assessments.
• Fostered a safe and welcoming learning environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions.

WINDER LABORATORIES LLC, WINDER, GA, AUGUST 2020 TO NOVEMBER 2020
QUALITY CONTROL (QC)/RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT (R&D) CHEMIST
• Conducted routine testing on APIs, stability, and finished products; generated test reports that influenced the development of processes and methods for resolving technical problems.
• Supported operational qualification (OQ)/ performance qualification (PQ) of the quality control equipment (e.g. HPLC).
• Monitored operational compliance with SOPs, cGMPs, and FDA/USP regulations; facilitated periodical safety audits to ensure adherence to safety rules and regulations.

SQUARE PHARMACEUTICALS LTD, DHAKA, BANGLADESH, SEPTEMBER 2013 TO FEBRUARY 2014
QUALITY CONTROL (QC) CHEMIST
• Demonstrated a basic understanding and knowledge of cGMPs, SOPs, and related compliance regulations.
• Performed sampling of raw materials and routine analytical testing of APIs and finished products.
• Regulated the maintenance and cleanliness of the QC lab.
