Introduction

Hello, my name is Chantilly Fenneman (Medina). I am 28 years old and I’ve graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education from Grand Canyon University in January of 2019. I am a bubbly and outgoing person who enjoys spending time with children and in my spare time I enjoy being with my pet rabbits, gardening, baking and making jewelry. I am a Navy spouse and have lived in Virginia, California, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and now back in California. I got married on September 1st 2019 to my wonderful husband who serves as a Naval Officer in the military and we plan on starting a family within the next year.

I am originally from Virginia where I taught at a preschool called Wave Children’s Learning Center as a teacher assistant for almost 2 years. When I moved to Monterey, California, I taught at La Mesa Elementary school and the Seaside Adult Transition Program. Both positions were as a Special Education Assistant and both jobs were taught through the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District. After that I taught in Tiverton, Rhode Island at a preschool called Sakonnet Early Learning Center as a Lead Teacher in the preschool classroom.

While living in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, I worked hard towards completing my schooling to become a teacher and completed my student teaching requirements. Now, I am back in California with new qualifications, experiences, 4 letters of recommendation and a Bachelor’s degree and am ready to start a new chapter in my life as an experienced and qualified teacher. My husband and I moved back to California in October of 2019, and since then I have been working at Alpine Children’s Academy as first an Infant lead teacher and now the Director. While I love working at this school, the commute back and forth is not time nor money efficient, and while doing a great job as director with enrollments, communication between families and staff members and handling financial aspects, my passion is not in being a director but rather being with the children. There currently aren’t any open positions within my school to step down as a teacher again, therefore, I am looking for employment elsewhere.

I have been teaching for almost 8 years now. I have fingerprint clearance through the states of California, Arizona, Virginia, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. I also have CPR/FIRST AID Training and am now currently awaiting my Site Supervisor Permit to be granted via SDCOE but currently possess the temporary site supervisor permit. In addition, I am also currently learning how to read write and speak French. I’m a hard worker, and a fast learner. I learn easier and better when the information and materials is taught hands on. I have learned overtime, that I am a kinesthetic learner and that I can come off as humorous un-intentionally at times. Overall, I make a great addition to new schools and easily fit in. I am good at noticing what needs to be done and I am a pro-planner because I like to have things done ahead of time. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you.
