Peter Campanelli

Hello,

My name is Peter Campanelli. I am a prolific songwriter and recording artist. I play piano, guitar, bass, drums and vocals. My emphasis is on bass guitar but I am very comfortable on guitar and piano.

I want to get into the world of teaching. I taught two guitar lessons previously through Lessons in Your Home but I did not fit well with the kids. It was an awkward double lesson with two thirteen year old boys. It proved difficult to keep both kids interested for the hour and a half lesson.

After some break away from teaching, I decided that I do want to hone my skills as a teacher. I have a lot to offer. My basis in music is Jazz and I learn mostly by ear. I want to incorporate ear-training alongside written music into my lessons as I believe the ear is an invaluable tool for a musician.

I love music harmony and can teach kids anything they want to know about the functionality of music. I can follow lesson plans, create constructive practice schedules, and teach kids to love learning music instead of fearing it.

I attended Berklee College of Music as an electric bass player and I graduated from St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists with an emphasis on jazz bass. During my time in high school and college, I played in many general business ensembles and churches. I also played with many highly talented musicians as a session bassist. Below is a demonstration of my bass playing in one of those sessions. Unfortunately, I did not graduate Berklee due to financial reasons.

I am also very well versed in songwriting and can teach aspects of that practice as well. I have recorded an released many different albums by myself. My most recent album features me writing, recording, and playing every instrument. It demonstrates my knowledge of theory, my technical abilities on the piano and guitar, and my dedication to music.

Music heals and I believe every person should get a chance to learn how to make noise. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thanks,
