WORK EXPERIENCE
Salt River Project, Mesa: Graduate Services Assistant (Research) Aug 2019 - Present
Led the project 3D printed piping for corrosive and low-pressure environments: Towards reducing cost & lead time of repairs.
Designed, modelled and validated (ANSYS) piping structures of additively manufactured Stainless Steel 316L pipe prototypes.
Improved existing designs, welded AM SS316L samples to wrought SS 316L samples using AWS D1.6 welding code.
Defined test plans, conducted tensile tests of welded samples and found a 4.63% rise in UTS when compared to control group.
Created pressure testing setup in accordance with ASME B31.3 standard for non-destructive hydrostatic pressure tests.
Conducted high pressure leak tests and rated 3D printed pipes for 725 psi which is 20.83% more than that of wrought pipes.
Performed Chronoamperometry, noted 1.42% higher mass loss in wrought SS and AM samples were more corrosion resistant.
Insight Engineers, Pune: Engineering Intern Jan 2018 - May 2018
Developed, reviewed and modified technical drawings with ANSI 14.5Y-2009 GD&T standards using SOLIDWORKS.
Analysed designs using design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly, safety, ergonomics and cost analysis guidelines.
Generated and modified Bill of Materials (BOM) for the fabrication of various fixture sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
Designed and manufactured positioning and measurement fixtures that can sustain required compressive forces.
Executed root cause analysis by carrying out CAPA to detect and rectify quality defects thereby decreasing defects by 7.6%.
Reduced job rejection rate to 0% by modifying clamping fixture design in CNC machining centre.
