Noah Young Design and Photo

I am Noah Young, a Junior at Plymouth State University. I am working toward my Bachelors in Graphic Design with a Minor in Photography. I have hundreds of hours? of experience working in a fast-paced and goal-oriented environment. I take criticism thoughtfully, using it to improve my work, and can work well with anybody.

Experience:

Production Manager, The Clock Student Newspaper
2019–Present
It is my job to layout and fit together the articles together into a cohesive bi-weekly newspaper for
Plymouth State University to enjoy. I have since redesigned the logo, have taken down the time it takes
to edit the newspaper dramatically and been experimenting with more striking covers and articles. Due to COVID, I have begun working for 'The Clock Online' to bolster our reach remotely due to the reporting team and large numbers of those on campus being online this semester.

Graphic Design Intern, Montagne Communications.
May 2020–August 2020
I worked with various individuals across the company to create great content for them to use for
Montagne Communications? various clients. Ranging from social media posts to infographics to pitches
for Montagne itself.

Darkroom Technician, Plymouth State University Art Department.
Fall 2019–Spring 2020
I keep the darkroom open for the art department so that students can use it for their classes. I mix the
chemicals necessary for black and white negative development, enlarging, and printing. I aided in organizing inkjet ink and photo paper into a spreadsheet to track usage and storage. I helped other students with issues they may have had with enlargers, focusing, film developing, and rolled new film to hand out.

Summer Risk Intern, Riverstone.
June 2019–July 2019
I interned at Riverstone, a reinsurance company, in the risk department. Here, they put my design skills
to use in the form of training videos for their new Risk database. I became knowledgeable in Camtasia,
a creation tool, enough to train people to use it after my time as an intern was over. I rapidly learned the ins and outs of the database tool to both create those tutorials and to troubleshoot with individuals using it across the company.

Fun things about Me:
I am a moderately bad bluegrass guitarist and a decent jazz bassist. I enjoy backpacking trips with
my pals and mountain biking. My favorite hikes are along the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway, and the New England Trail. I am the vice president of the Cactus and Succulent Enthusiast Club on campus. I enjoy drawing still-lives to calm myself down. Since quarantine, I have started learning historical card games.
