Nanny, Household Manager
Nanny, Household Manager

Hi and nice to meet you! I am a VERY young and active 60 year old. I have raised two great kids into wonderful young adults. I was a stay at home mom for 25 years and have worked with children in a variety of volunteer positions such as Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS), volunteer childcare for infants and toddlers, and as a substitute teacher K-2nd. I am skilled at time management, prioritization/organization, giving and receiving feedback, and have strong communication skills. I love to connect with children and watch them grow into responsible and resourceful teenagers and young adults. I am an artist and love to paint, create, and plan age appropriate projects for children and youth. I believe early bonds formed by children with their parents and caregivers are important to develop normal social and emotional development. Infants and young children need to be able to depend on caregivers for care and safety. Quick and consistent response is vital to healthy attachment. I believe in positive discipline, which is kind and firm and not punitive or permissive. Children need to be encouraged, respected, and have a sense of belonging and significance. They need to be taught important social and life skills such as respect, concern for others, problem solving, accountability, contribution, and cooperation Presently, I work as a House Parent at a residential facility for minor girls who have been sex trafficked. I live on campus 4 days a week and work 14-hour shifts. I am the first stop for the girls when they come in and they stay with me 30-60 days where they learn expectations, limits, and rules and where they can begin therapy and work on maladaptive behaviors before they move to another permanent cottage. I am a parent and role model, tending to basic physical, emotional, and safety needs and providing a structured, and nurturing learning environment while providing constant supervision. I write daily menus, order groceries, cook, clean, provide transportation, implement a written daily schedule for each girl, and teach life skills. I am trained in Trust Based Relational Intervention and Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression. I have extensive international and domestic travel experience. I love animals and have no problem caring for pets. I have a clean background and driving record, am up to date on immunizations, and a recent TB test. I will agree to drug testing if required. I follow all COVID guidelines and wear a mask 14 hours a day at my present job along with regular hand washing and hand sanitizer use. I hope you see my passion for children and consider me for a nanny!
