• Assisted Veterinarian by restraining and properly handling cattle, horses, goats, pigs, and sheep while they performed on the
patient.
• Prepped animals for surgery, assisted with X-rays, helped veterinarian administer medications, vaccinations and tests.
• Collected fecal, tissues, semen, blood samples from patients. Laboratory diagnostics were ran in house on feces and blood.
• Communicated with staff clearly to work efficiently and provide great nursing care to injured animals.

Veterinary Technician Intern October 2019-December 2019

• Preformed proper restraint and care of mice, rats, pigs, rabbits, cats, guinea pigs, and gerbils.
• Ran laboratory diagnostics such as fecal floats and fur slides checking for pin worms.
• Administered parenteral and enteral medications to mice, rats, pigs and cats.
• Prepped pigs for surgery which included getting patient down with drug formula, placing intravenous catheters, intubating, and running anesthesia for 8+ hour surgeries. These surgeries comprised of keeping proper maintenance of anesthesia equipment, completing anesthetic records while taking vitals, keeping patient comfortable at a stable plane of anesthesia, and
recovering the patient.
• Ran anesthesia for approximately 175+ hours.
• Communicated in a professional and efficient way with care staff, veterinary technicians, lead management, private
investigators, laboratory staff, and surgeons directly.
• Checked and restocked inventory.
• Completed 384 hours of this internship.

Shadowing CVTs September 2017-February 2019

• Shadowed CVTs in 4 hour intervals at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, VCA Alameda Emergency, VCA
Southeast, Seven Hills Veterinary Hospital, and Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue.
• Followed directions of the technician carefully and followed their instructions under supervision.
• Assisted technician in proper restraint, treatment protocol, TPRs and preparing and administering medications.
• Observed several necropsies on canines while assisting the veterinarian in the necropsy process by handing them instruments
and identifying structures in the body.
• Observed procedures such as intraperitoneal injections in mice, intravenous catheter placement, blood draws, and
subcutaneous fluid administration.
• Total of 40 hours shadowing.

performing blood work, taking exact directions from instructors, administering intramuscular injections, practicing sterile
technique, running anesthesia, performing parasitology work, and wrapping packs.

• Individually tutored students in Laboratory Animal, Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology II, Microbiology,

• Conducted weekly Chemistry, Medical Terminology, Hematology, and Microbiology clinics where students came in groups and asked specific questions about the coursework.
• Assisted Laboratory Animal Lab instructor in 2 labs a week for 10 weeks while demonstrating and assisting students how to restrain mice, rats, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, ferrets, and guinea pigs.
