RELEVANT COURSEWORK

Ecology and Adaptation Spring 2019
A study of the distribution, abundance, and diversity of organisms in nature. The laboratory component will teach basic laboratory skills while enhancing students' ability to conduct field sampling, observational studies, and experiments.
Organismal Biology Spring 2020
A phylogenetic approach to the study of organismal structure and function, with emphasis on the anatomy, physiology, and diversity of major groups of plants, animals, and selected protists and fungi.
Topics include functional organization and body plans, reproduction, growth, development, regulation, nutrition, and transport. Laboratory experiments and projects apply course concepts and scientific methodology to biological research questions.

Animal Science, Arlington Career Center Fall 2017- Spring 2018
Students learn how to care for and manage small animals, focusing on instructional areas in animal health, nutrition, management, reproduction, and evaluation.
Course content also includes instruction in tools, equipment, and facilities for small animal care, and provides activities to foster leadership development.

Directed Study & Research
Research Assistant Fall 2020- Present
Currently conducting research supporting Dr. Tara Pelletier who is a professor at Radford University.
Research in our lab uses genetic, geographic, environmental, and morphological data to investigate the evolutionary processes shaping current biodiversity patterns. We combine both empirical and theoretical approaches to answer complex questions in ecology and evolution.

Honors at Radford University is an academic program and vibrant community defined by intellectual curiosity and active engagement in the educational process.
Being a part of the Honors College allows me to take specific honors courses through Radford University that are only offered to honors students.
Honors Capstone
Presentable Research Spring 2021- Present
Honors students will explore the general processes of scholarship and creativity across disciplines. Students will then apply this knowledge to the development of their own scholarly or creative ideas. After completing the course, a student will be prepared to propose an honors capstone project in his or her major.
Working with my mentor, Dr. Tara Pelletier to conduct my own research project and then have a poster presentation on every aspect of my research project.
Service Work and Mission Trips
As a member of my Church youth group, participated in the following: Summers 2015-2018
The Pittsburgh Project: A service organization dedicated to ensuring people who cannot afford upkeep of their homes receive assistance such as roofing, plumbing, and water leak repair.
The Vine, New Orleans: Participated in the refurbishing of the roof and painting the building, which serves as a community center in an underserved neighborhood. Also helped run a Summer camp there for local children.
Chiapas, Mexico: Worked with Presbytery in Mexico’s poorest state to help finish two new church buildings and adjacent community kitchens that feed a village at least two meals a day.
Falls Church Virginia: Chaperoned and helped plan and lead a Vacation Bible Camp for 65 local children or four Summer.
Falls Church, Virginia: Member of Girl Scouts Troop 1251 (2nd through 12th grade), participating in numerous service projects such as planting an herb garden at a retirement community, city clean ups, and visiting shut-ins.
