Photo Editor in charge of selecting and editing photos to be sent to a variety of internal and external clients.
Duties included:
• Live Event Team Lead. Managed a team of photo editors at various live CrossFit competitions. Our role was to ingest the photographers’ memory cards, select through their take, edit the best shots, and deliver them quickly to internal clients such as our social media and website, and external clients such as sporting websites and magazines.
• Photo Editing. Edited and toned photos to look their best, using Photoshop and Adobe Camera Raw/Lightroom tools. Worked on photos generated from our own photography team as well as photos sent in from the fan community.
• Graphics for Web. Would find appropriate photos to be used as header/rotator graphics for the CrossFit Games website. These would be sized to fit specific pixel dimensions, and would often feature text and graphic overlays.
•Photo Essays for Web. Would create Photo Essay PDFs for the CrossFit Journal.
Photo Archive Management. Worked daily with our Digital Asset Manager, keeping years of photos organized, tagged with metadata, and accessible to other team members.
Good Times Weekly Newspaper • Santa Cruz, CA
Senior Designer • Aug 2007 – Apr 2014
• Senior designer for weekly newspaper. Duties included article layout, photo editing, ad design, web ad design, and magazine design.
• Created beautiful layouts for the weekly newspaper articles.
• Partnered with advertising representatives to design effective and visually appealing ads for local business clients from a wide variety of industries.
• Led design on “special issue” magazines, such as our annual “Food & Wine”
and “Gift Guide” issues.
