CHILDCARE EXPERIENCE

Atkinson Family Miami, FL 2015-2020

Full-Time/On-Call Nanny, Ages of Children Upon Hire: newborn & 2 years
Worked full-time weekdays and occasionally on the weekends from 2015-2018, but the last two years I have worked for the Atkinson family as an on-call nanny. The kids are now ages 2, 5, and 7. When I initially started working with the Atkinson family there was no need to transport the children to school but as the kids got older, I did start taking the two older children. We had a set schedule everyday and the mother and I worked closely to make sure all her needs were taken care of for the children. I did some light meal prepping for breakfast, lunch, and dinner but sometimes the family themselves liked to cook for the kids. There was not much schoolwork, so our days were filled with fun activities all day long. The kids swam, played at the park, took their pets to the dog park, did arts and crafts, etc. Every once in a while, when the kids have super awesome behavior, we watch a movie and eat super special snacks as a treat. I changed diapers, bathed the kids, changed their clothes, and did regular bottle feeding. These kids are super laid back and the littlest things make them happy, just like our daily duck feeding!

Apple Family Miami, FL 2017-2018
Full-Time Nanny, Ages of Children Upon Hire: pair of 10 year old twins
Worked full-time solely on the weekdays. These two older boys were the sweetest! They were super active when they were not doing homeschooling, which I helped them with. We did a lot of swimming, created homemade films, looked for insects outside, did tons of water balloon fights, and played with their Legos. Since they were older, they were responsible and capable of doing things on their own. My main responsibility was keeping them active, making sure they completed their schoolwork, and I did some light meal prepping. Furthermore, I always kept the play area clean when I left for the day.

Stapleton Family Miami, FL 2017-2018
Full-Time Nanny, Ages of Children Upon Hire: 2 and 4 years
Worked full-time weekdays and was needed occasionally on the weekends. I had very busy days with this family. I arrived as soon as the kids woke up, got them dressed for the day, made breakfast, and tidied up their bedrooms in the morning. I took one of the children to and from school/after school activities every day. When I stayed home with the other child we would usually go for walks around the neighborhood and scooter around the block. We would then come home and prepare lunch together since he loved to help me cook. While the food was being prepared, we played with his trucks and cars, read a ton of books, drew on his white board, and did a ton of arts and crafts. I would then feed him lunch, give him his bottle, and put him down for his nap. Later in the day after he woke up from his nap, we would go pick up his sibling up from school and come home for a snack. Our afterschool activities ranged from playing on the trampoline, tractor driving, swimming, and playing hide and seek. Their absolute favorite thing to do after school was go to the park and have play dates so we also did a ton of that. After they have exhausted themselves, we came home and had a bath. I would serve them dinner that was either prepped by me or someone in the family. Lastly, I would put the boys to sleep by reading their favorite book and come back the next day to start all over.

Zammar Family Miami, FL 2018-2019
Full-Time Nanny/On-Call Nanny, Ages of Children Upon Hire: 4 years
Worked full-time weekdays and occasionally on the weekends. I am now an on-call nanny for this family. This munchkin is a total tomboy. He loves the outdoors and arts and crafts. Since the family have a big backyard, we constantly play outside on the swing set, try to climb trees, paint things outdoors, do science experiments, etc. He is a homeschooled child, so we do a few hours of online classes daily but mainly have free time to do what we prefer that day. I do some light meal prepping, but the family usually prepares his food. I handle the daily bathing and putting him to sleep with some lullabies. On special occasions he gets to rewatch Spiderman all with his Spiderman costume on while munching on a yogurt pop, which is his favorite.

Nunez Family Miami, FL 2019-2020
Full-Time Nanny, Ages of Children Upon Hire: 3, 8, and 10 years
Solely worked full-time weekdays. I spent a lot of time with this family, constantly splitting errands with the family to help ease their busy schedules. One of the kid’s favorite things to do was run errands at Target, buy their favorite snacks from there, and set up a picnic at the park. These kids were extremely well behaved, and I personally had an extremely close relationship with them, as I do with all the children I work with. They all had their own afterschool activities, so I was constantly in the car driving somewhere. I always packed snacks for on the go but never had to prepare lunch or dinner as the parents preferred doing that. I had to bathe and dress the youngest child, but the two older children were extremely independent. Furthermore, I had to do some schoolwork with the two older children but nothing too hard to accomplish.

Summer Camp Miami, FL 2016-2019
Camp Advisor, Ages of Children Upon Hire: 2-15 years
My church hosted a camp every summer for a few years to support local homeless shelters. I was a camp advisor placed in different age groups every year. Our days consisted of breakfast, outdoor games, puzzles, arts and crafts, reading, snack, more outdoor activities, and then finally lunch. After that, their parents would pick them up and bring them back the next day.
