Experienced Recent-Grad in the Field of Media and Communications

While still a teenager, I discovered my talents in media management and editorial. I have always been an applied student and dedicated professional; focused on being academically eligible and skilled for any career I may desire. I graduated with honors in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Media, Culture, and Communication with a minor in Italian Studies from New York University.

My experiences with amateur journalism, in and out of pop culture, have allowed me to write original articles that have been mentioned by major media outlets, intensifying my zeal for communications. I am currently a writer for The Kraze Magazine and recently for All Or Nothing Magazine. I’ve had the opportunity to pitch and write an article in both print and online. The ample variety of both magazines allowed me to write concert and new releases reviews, news, listicles, and artist profiles. Attached to this cover letter are a few writing samples from my work with The Kraze Magazine. Beyond writing, I have been a part of The Kraze’s marketing team, assisting with social media posting, significantly increasing engagement upon redesigning the magazine’s account and creating interactive content.

While working as a Peer Mentor for three years and as a Summer Admissions Assistant for NYU Steinhardt and the department of Media, Culture, and Communication, I had the opportunity to engage with the student body and administration at NYU. My roles required me to immerse myself with the NYU community in order to develop communication and events that would engage the student body and departments within Steinhardt. My vast experience allowed me to create lesson plans, produce, develop, and edit videos, organize and attend events. My extensive training familiarized me with the college community beyond the scope of a student, translating into the success of events I took the lead in. Both roles required constant communication online with students and staff guaranteeing the success of the programs.

As I spent my Spring 2018 semester in Florence I had the opportunity to once again work for the NYU community at La Pietra Dialogues (LPD) as the Social Media Specialist. This exclusive NYU Florence institution brings to campus scholars, policymakers, practitioners, business leaders, public intellectuals, and artists from all over the world to engage in dialogues with guests and students. Working as a social media intern I had the opportunity to work hands-on on designing communications and social media campaigns for tall events throughout platforms, researching the topics and speakers prior and live-tweeting talks.

While a Publicity Intern at Press Here PR and Chromatic PR, I had the opportunity to engage with the world of public relations through music. My roles included screening, editing, and formatting press releases, writing pitches, and maintaining emails communications between clients and outlets. Furthermore, my responsibilities included updating the Chromatic PR website with new clients, creating new pages and updating old ones, working with Wordpress. Working as the Clubs and Theaters Marketing intern at Live Nation provided me with the opportunity to engage in extensive audience research and the skills to transform my findings into promotional opportunities. I was responsible for promotional emails for our designated venues as well as the BandsInTown and Music Geeks NYC. Through audience research, I created affinity lists and wrote the copy sent with every email to reflect that audience’s tone. My time at Live Nation expanded my previous experience as a music Public Relations intern at Press Here PR and Chromatic PR and provided me with comprehensive skills in identifying and relating to a target market.

More recently, I’ve been the Marketing and Social Media Apprentice and Production Assistant at Suck My Chic where I further expanded skills I learned as a PR and marketing intern. My responsibilities include current events research with a focus on diversity in order to update social media accounts, comprehensive market research with a focus on diversity, and direct assistant to the CEO and CFO. While working as their apprentice and assistant, I had the opportunity to engage in grant writing where my editorial skills were expanded beyond entertainment. I also work with Garra’s social media and communications team, assisting in the non-profit’s branding and voice. I have am currently working with their communications team on implementing the social media expansion plan I have created specifically for Garra. My responsibilities include research, content development, creation, and scheduling, from graphics to captions, community outreach, and internal communications.

All of my positions have required me to work in an office space, attending to the needs of my supervisors, including office organization and management, as well as maintaining my own projects. My experience in community management and communications is extensive and in various fields throughout platforms yet still has room to grow.

Thank you in advance for your consideration,
