Work EXPERIENCE
Zpizza, Long Beach, CA—July 2017-June 2018: I had a part time job at a pizza restaurant while I was in my second year of CSULB. It was a restaurant close to my university and I took that job to help myself pay some of my rent, my phone bills, utility usage in my apartment, and my car insurance.
Externship, Long Beach, CA—April 2019-April 2019:I had an externship at the Health Department of Long Beach where we worked in pairs to survey different stores in different locations in Long Beach to see how many tobacco advertisements, products, flavors were sold there.
Internship, Long Beach, CA—January 2020-May 2020: We teach the residents how to cook healthy meals, have health literacy discussions and gardening seasonal vegetables that help to truly engage the residents in health behavior change and improving their quality of life.
Internship, Riverside, CA—June 2020-Present: I work with program directors and other members to help educate the public about the truth of tobacco products and help to create policies to ban flavored tobacco.
Leadership positions
Board Member of HSSA—2019-2020 :I was part of the Health Science Student Association at CSULB and we would help plan/organize events for any students, set up volunteer events, and coordinate with different organizations on campus.
Volunteer Work
Hillcrest—2015-2016 :I help with the Music and Memory Program, which is a program where the residents have their own iPods that have a specialized playlist. I would go to a certain resident and ask if they wanted to listen to music, and if they did, then I would give them their iPod and as they’re listening; we would talk about their past memories. I also help residents with anything that they need help with, like any odd jobs that they need done.
VA Hospital Long Beach—2018-Present :I help escort the patients to and from the locations they need to be at. I’m also going back and forth in the ER shifts for more hands on experience.
