Copywriting & Messaging Intern: Matchstic, Atlanta, GA (June - August 2019)

Assisted copywriting & messaging lead on client projects with brainstorming, crafting, and revising short- and long-form copy. Researched client competitors' messaging and distilled findings into Keynote decks. Refreshed copy for internal projects including Matchstic's website and RFP response template. Worked closely with co-founder/creative director to create his 200-word professional bio, ghostwrite a 450-word thought leadership article, and develop content (including episode titles & subtitles, 50-80 word episode summaries, platform-tailored social captions, and sponsorship message templates) for his biweekly podcast, The Creative Rising. Synthesized input from design fellows, creative director, messaging lead, and art director to caption 2-4 Instagram posts weekly. Wrote subject lines, headlines, and content for Matchstic's monthly e-newsletter, Smoke Signals, and prepared final drafts as Mailchimp campaigns. Proofread design team's client presentation decks and branding applications for spelling, grammar, and house style. Assisted with event production for monthly Creative Mornings lecture series (including set-up, tear-down, parking attendance, and cheerfully jumping in where needed).

Editor-in-Chief: Inklings Magazine, Oxford, OH (May 2017 - May 2019)

Stewarded funds, cultivated editorial staff, and solicited contributors to produce four semi-annual literary magazines. Organized and facilitated weekly meetings with 12-17 editorial staff members to discuss and vote on submissions. Liaised between graphic designer, business manager, and campus printing services to format, proof, order, and distribute 500-1000 copies of each issue. Coordinated, executed, and emceed 4 issue release parties/readings. Concepted and instituted seasonal "Full Moon" pop-up reading series. Coordinated classroom visits and dynamic presence at student organization fairs to recruit new staff, contributors, and readers. Initiated relationships with campus partners (including the Art & Architecture Library, Women*s Center, student radio, and other student publications) to cross-promote programming and cross-pollinate resources and communities. Articulated and steered Inklings' mission and brand with internal and external stakeholders. Facilitated staff-wide discussion and reflection to co-create a new, values-based staff application and interview process. Coached social media/marketing director to establish playful, offbeat, and inclusive voice across platforms. Created strategic plans and budget proposals for FY 19 and FY 20, and presented budget story to a 10-member faculty/staff panel for approval. Increased operating budget from FY 18 to FY 19 by more than 35%.

Vice President: Miami University Collegiate Chorale, Oxford, OH (May 2017 - May 2018)

Served on the officer board of a 70-member college choir, primarily focused on internal affairs and fostering ensemble community. Tabled 20+ hours in one week (at recruitment fairs and outside auditions): represented the ensemble, assisted with paperwork, and helped students feel genuinely welcome. Collaborated with officers and director to plan 6-hour team-building retreat and took the lead facilitating the event with the choir. Managed concert attire (measurement, sizing, ordering, collecting payment, and returns) for 25+ new members. Designed and distributed surveys to choir members and analyzed results to thoughtfully pair new members with returners ("bigs" who take "littles" under their wings). Represented choir members' concerns to the choir president and the director, gaining experience "managing up" and mitigating conflicts between parties. Wrote and revised contributions to concert program notes, emcee scripts, and social media posts. Was nominated and voted "Most Outstanding Member" by choir members at the end of the officer term.

Barista: Kofenya Coffee House, Oxford, OH (August 2017 - May 2019)

Served as closing key-holder for 9 months, exceeding expectations for shop cleanliness and opener prep. Embraced servant leadership by regularly covering shifts, tackling undesirable shop chores (i.e. cleaning bathrooms), and hopping on the register or dishwasher while not on the clock to help coworkers process long lines/rushes.
