PROJECT EXPERIENCE:
Directed Research – Aluminum Slumping Fringe Projection
October 2020 – May 2021
Worked with LOFT (Large Optics Fabrication and Testing) at the University of Arizona to assist in developing a method of measuring surface deflection in an aluminum panel through fringe projection. Developed MATLAB code to automate the process and analyze fringe projection phase.

Optical Communication System
Summer 2020
Self-motivated and independent project to design an optical communication system using Arduino’s, an accelerometer, laser diodes, servos, etc. Worked in a small team to design a transmitter which communicated data via laser diode to a receiver using servos to adjust when movement is detected.

Fizeau Interferometers and their Applications
December 2019
Researched how Fizeau interferometers work, the different types, and their applications, specifically how the Tucson Optical Research Corp. (TORC) uses a Fizeau interferometer to test the surfaces of their lenses.

Fresnel Lens Demonstration – Laser Fun Day
April 2019
Directed a demonstration using a large Fresnel lens to melt coins outside for visitors to watch. Explained the concept of how a lens is able to accomplish this.
