• Limetree Bay Refinery, St Croix, USVI
Perform the process engineering role in plant wide Process Hazard Analyses (PHA’s) for the refinery startup program. The process units analyzed include Fuel Oil Vaporizer and Pressure Swing Absorber. Performed process-related equipment inspection and confined space inspections on drums, separators, heaters, crude distillation towers, vacuum and tray towers, reactors, and boilers for the Limetree Bay Refinery restart efforts.
• Diageo USVI (Captain Morgan Distillery), St. Croix, USVI
Perform detailed engineering scoping, estimating, purchasing, budgeting, and cost tracking for piping and equipment installation, maintenance, upgrades, and improvements for Diageo USVI (Captain Morgan Distillery). Track active industrial and commercial projects / opportunities to ensure that they are delivered on budget and on schedule.
Brewer, Tin Roof Brewing Company, Baton Rouge, LA
· Responsibilities included recipe design, wort production, cellaring processes, yeast management, water chemistry adjustments, instrumentation tuning, QA/QC, monitoring of process conditions, lab work, equipment maintenance, and packaging with vigilant focus on consistency, sanitation, and safety. Implemented and trained coworkers on proper safety procedures. Worked with production team to meet market demands for required beer production including nationally recognized GABF gold medalist “Voodoo APA”.
Process Engineer, Jacobs Engineering, Baton Rouge, LA
· Worked with personnel at Limetree Bay Terminals on the startup efforts by participating in plant wide Process Hazard Analyses (PHA’s) as a process engineering representative; revised P&IDs to accurately reflect the existing condition of the refinery in order to determine the scope of work required for commissioning of OSBL piping; and mapped OSBL piping routes to minimize piping recommissioning requirements.
Process Engineering Intern, Westlake Chemical, Lake Charles, LA
· Process monitoring and animation in Aspen Process Explorer for the chlorine neutralizer, triple effect evaporator, and #1 EDC reactor; performed lab research to optimize the brine feed pH to the electrolyzers for potential cost savings of $20MM annually; walked plant and created as-built P&ID’s; designed and specified a furnace steam-air decoke drum.
Intern, Polaris Engineering and Construction, Lake Charles, LA
· Participated in development of portable Hands On Training unit; used P&IDs to assist with fabrication; shadowed and worked with experienced engineers and operators; observed executive meetings.
