Hi, my name is Avery Hootstein. A little background on myself, I am a 20 year old college student, I attend Grinnell College, and I'm an intended Political Science major. I'm originally from New York City, but I am currently in Waterford, CT studying remotely.
I have taken a summer photography class at the Academy of Art University, I also poses a very complete understanding of shutter speed, aperture, and ISO, as well as focal length. However, I do believe that there is always room for improvement. I also know how to use Adobe Lightroom, Luminar 4, and Luminar AI. I also have a basic knowledge of Final Cut Pro.
I want to further myself as a photographer as well as a businessman. On many occasions I have thought of starting my own photography buisness and the opportunity to work with and learn from someone who is established in the industry would be a truly an amazing one. If I were to be chosen I would be eager to get started and learn from a real professional.
Something that sets me apart is that I am also a college athlete. I play football at the D3 level and although this doesn't relate to photography directly I do believe it sets me apart. Being an athlete I am a very good at taking directions and I'm very good at listening to and using criticism to become better.
The idea of "treating all beings with kindness and dignity" is one that I have not only been taught my whole life but is one I have practiced. Working at a place that puts this at the core of their values is something that I personally love!
Being chosen for this would be unbelievable! I do believe that I can be successful in this position as well as be an asset to the studio.
