o Refined my Chinese language and culture knowledge at De Guang Catholic School in Tainan, Taiwan
o Attended boarding school with seven Taiwanese students. This emersion program included one-on-one instruction and work on critical social communication skills outside the classroom.

• Project Go – Summer 2018
o Studied abroad in Taipei, Taiwan for seven weeks at Soochow University with fellow AFROTC officer candidates/cadets. This experience afforded me opportunities to lead tours throughout the country, practice my language skills and help others in the program.

Work Experience and Internships
• Lifeguard – May 2015 to September 2015 at Farmers Branch Aquatics Center.
• Lifeguard – July 2016 to August 2016 for Community Pools Service at Camp Shoresh just outside of Frederick, Maryland.
• Future Agents in Training. Quantico, VA – Summer 2015: Selected for and received hands-on training about the FBI’s criminal, counterterrorism, intelligence, counterintelligence, and administrative divisions from special agents, intelligence analysts, and language specialists.

Volunteer and Community Service
• 2013 -Taught English to Taiwanese aboriginals in Taiwan.
• February 2018 – As a member for AFROTC Detachment 825, served as Austin Marathon helper/organizer. Helped pass out personal belongings to marathon runners.
• October 2018 - As a member for AFROTC Detachment 825, picked up trash in the aftermath of Formula One at Austin.
• October 2018 – As a member of Detachment 825’s Sustainability Project, raised funds for the University of Texas athletics department go green initiative.
• 2017-2019 - Served on numerous Color Guards for the University of Texas’s sports events including Veteran’s Day games and celebrations
• June 2020-Sept 2020 – Received a highly competitive slot to be a Cadet Training Assistant. Spent nine weeks in Maxwell AFB, AL training 2nd year AFROTC cadets, preparing and testing their ability to be an Officer in the Air Force. Learned valuable leadership and mentoring experience and gained connections throughout the Air Force.

• Contracted AFROTC cadet at Detachment 825 in August 2017
• Initial Military Training Cadet of the Semester at Detachment 825 in Spring 2018
• Laboratory Research Skills learned from the University of Texas at Austin. Researched and tested why Waller Creek in Austin, TX contained an excessive amount of E. Coli.
• Rewarded Cadet Training Assistant slot for Summer 2020 – highly competitive program that requires high performance in leadership.

Extracurricular Activities in College
• Cadet in Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps – Fall 2017 to present:
o Learned and tested on basic military and leadership skills while pursuing a degree. Basic military skills training included twice-weekly physical training, Leadership Laboratory and a weekly Air Force Science course.
o Field Training – May 2019:
? Graduated top third of 450+ cadets.
? Rigorous two-week program at Maxwell, AL – Training included weapon, survival, deployment, physical conditioning, leadership and teamwork skills.
? Recommended for the Cadet Training Assistant program – a highly competitive program to train cadets during the 2020 Field Training session.
o Cadet Training Assistant – Summer 2020:
? Spent nine weeks in Maxwell AFB, AL.
? Trained 2nd year AFROTC cadets into the upper-class. Worked long, hot days, sometimes 16 hour work days despite Covid-19.
? Tested and evaluated cadets’ leadership performance in field scenarios, physical fitness, peer leadership, and followership.
o Mission Support Group Commander – Fall 2020
? Lead the support the cadet functions, whether it be big events like hosting an Air Force Ball, promotion ceremony, or commissioning to smaller events like volunteering, hosting guest speakers, or mentoring.
? Only top cadets in AFROTC and is given big responsibility in dealing with all the support for the organization.
• Texas Silver Wings – Spring 2018: Organization that teaches civilians about general military knowledge, and at the same time, educates and develops individual leadership qualities in civilians.
o Developmental Officer – I provided publicity of our chapter actives while focusing on recruiting and retaining members. The biggest responsibilities specifically were associate member training, recruitment, and retention activity.
o President – Fall 2019: Official representative of the chapter at all campus and community events, responsible for all chapter members, point of contact for other organizations, report directly to the region executive every month of our chapter’s status, and plan and conduct chapter biweekly meetings.
• Water Safety Instructor – Spring 2019 to Fall 2020: Instruct adults and children how to swim outside, help people get comfortable with the water, teach them how to survive in water, basic swimming, and also advanced swimming skills such as recreational and competitive swimming.
