Dedicated educator recently retired with fifteen years of teaching experience seeking a position as a teacher. I still have that passion and commitment inside me to foster student growth, development, and academic excellence. My core strengths are:

• Building rapport and creating a low affective filter in a safe, relaxed environment
• Displaying a positive attitude, smiling, asking them about their lives
• Using students’ backgrounds, talents, interests, perspectives and integrating all of these into the curriculum
• Building self esteem, self realization, and cultural-identity strategies
• Motivate and role model to students a joy of learning
• Empower students to become independent learners and good, responsible decision makers
• Teach cooperation, team play, and fairness

• Make my classroom a place where all questioned will be answered, feelings discussed, thoughts discussed , and new ideas welcomed with open arms

• Multicultural liaison for school to Clark County School District- attended meetings to bring back ideas for Staff Development
• Member of various school committees and attended all academic nights
• Involved my students in various multicultural plays, singing, and Reading night activities for school functions and assemblies
