• Directly involved with the AFF project manager providing user input, gathering data (dispatch/GACC boundary file, center information, etc.) to be utilized in production, and beta testing versions of AFF, as well as providing user functionality input.

Intel

Aviation

• Ensured the Aircraft Desk is knowledgeable and up-to-date on the current policies, procedures, and local vendor contracts for each of the agencies dispatched out of MDC.
• Maintained a vast knowledge on all types of aviation fixed and rotor wing that are presently utilized including the capabilities and limitations.
• Effectively made rapid decisions on resource prioritization based on values at risk and availability of resources. Experienced at working efficiently with the FMO’s, Fire, Incident Management Teams – Air Operations.
• Skilled at procuring aircraft for incidents and projects such as helitorch/PSD operations, reconnaissance, and repeater missions, etc.
• Launched aircraft, ensuring they have all pertinent information (frequencies, contacts, hazards, other aircraft, etc.). At the same time coordinating with NRCC, neighboring dispatches, and incident with airspace deconfliction, ordering TFR’s and/or IR flights, anticipating additional resource needs, and reassigning aircraft as priority changes.

• Created a spreadsheet of compiled statistics from the season producing a breakdown of the aircraft desk workload.
• Built and maintained standard operating procedures.
• Actively participated in after action reviews.
Initial Attack
• Confidently coordinated and communicated with duty officers on emerging incidents and making informed decisions on a response. Proficient at incidents that require mutual aid responses and ensuring they are communicating and coordinating safely and effectively.
