SKILLS/INTERESTS/GOALS
I am very passionate about community organizing. It is through doing this for the last ten years that I have learned many great skills such as organizational leadership and networking. Consequently, that lead me to inquire more about social work and research, which I do at every opportunity. Ultimately, I just want to help people, I would like to understand the link between trauma and resiliency and why it affects people so differently. My lifetime goal would be, with this understanding, the creation of a therapeutic intervention to prevent not just mental health illnesses but also curb/prevent the physiological effects that appear in adulthood. No person who has dealt with trauma as a child should have to suffer again as an adult.
