PERSONAL DETAILS :

I am a Pyschology With Education student currently studying at University College London. I am seeking summer internships and part time work to help me gain further experience in the fields of Creative Media and Digital Marketing. I am available for employment opportunities in the London, Birmingham and Wolverhampton areas.

EMPLOYMENT OVERVIEW :

Jul 2010 to Jul 2010 at Virgin West Coast Trains working in Internal Recruitment (Work Experience)
Nov 2012 to Apr 2014 at Forwardfor working in Media Production & Social Media Management
Jan 2015 to Apr 2015 at Midbass Distribution as the National & International Social Media Manager

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS :

At Virgin Trains, my role involved shadowing Gaynor Stewart, the head of recruitment, in her day to day duties which included aiding her in the interview and online application screening processes, selecting the best applicants for job roles, interviewing them one by one and coming to an agreement with one another as to who was the best candidate for the job. I was also tasked with representing Gaynor at her at panel meetings and helping out with general office duties at the Virgin Trains Talent Academy in Crewe and Meridian offices in Birmingham.

At Forwardfor, I began as a trainee apprentice and was educated in many aspects of the Media and Marketing Industries. After having first been allocated work in the field of 3D Game Design for various projects, I was eventually assigned to work in the fields of Video and Sound Production, as this was identified as a particular strength of mine. This involved the assembly of pre-recorded video tracks for mostly educational purposes, as well as the creation of sound effects and musical background tracks for the company's upcoming game releases. After several successful months in this role, I was then switched to a Social Media Assistant role in order to help the directors attract attention to the company during a small dip in our sales. I immediately took to the role and boosted the newly created Inochi Facebook page past 1000 likes in my tenure whilst also retaining control over the company’s official page and their Twitter account.

At Midbass, I was immediately integrated into the Marketing department, shadowing the Marketing Manager. I was placed in charge of the companies many international Social Media pages, with a particular emphasis on the UK and US markets. However, after my first month, a reshuffle occurred within the company to coincide with our rebrand to VIBE audio and this resulted in the Marketing Manager only working two days per week, meaning I then also became responsible for some of his duties during his absence, which in turn resulted a healthy mixture of both Social Media and general Digital Marketing duties. My role involved regularly updating our various social media accounts, for which there were several per product, with relevant and engaging content for our users, ensuring that the correct language and terminology was used for each page to successfully impact its target audience. I had to also use these accounts to interact with members of the public by responding to their questions, sourcing out potential buyers through related content and responding to posts whether they were directed at us or not. Using analytics on available websites, I was also tasked with keeping logs of the activity on our sites to assess what was working and what was not within my campaigns and then adjust accordingly. I managed and monitored Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pintrest, Flickr, Tumblr and Wordpress accounts in the UK, USA, UAE, India, Thailand, Germany, Russia, Italy, Japan, Vietnam, Canada and Australia. The biggest national page that I managed was VIBE Audio UK’s Facebook page (------------/vibeaudio?fref=ts) with over 15.75 thousand likes. The biggest international page that I managed was VIBE Audio Thailand’s Facebook page (------------/pages/VIBE-Audio-Thailand/------------64?fref=ts) with over 22 thousand likes. I was also responsible for managing our PPC and SEO campaigns. Using a combination of Google Adwords and Google Analytics, I monitored traffic through our many websites and social media pages, then adjusted our PPC adverts and SEO keywords to suit our target audience, unleashing both at the optimum points in time to capture the most traffic. This was different for every product as Car Audio, for example, has a very different audience to Home Audio. I was also responsible for our celebrity and popular figures endorsement campaigns. Here my role was to monitor individuals with a particularly high number of followers and lot of user engagement. After identifying a candidate, I then approached them, either on social media or by phone or email, to seek their stance on product endorsements. Once we had an agreement in place, I then sent them some courtesy Vibe products and requested that they have them on show during their next public appearance, be this on or offline. Many people contacted us themselves to personally request this agreement, including Soulja Boy and Mark Cavendish. When this occured, it was paramount that I profile the individual before moving forward, ensuring that they have a positive reputation and a strong following in order for there to be a feasible business case.
