EXPERIENCE:
9/2013 - Present -Premier Pump Inc.; Brooklyn Heights, Ohio. Premier Pump Inc. is a Pump Distributor and repair shop for Ohio and neighboring States. I am a 3D cad operator utilizing Solid-Works Software. In the time there I have been in charge of setting up a document control system to archive AS Built repairs, modifications and new pump assemblies. Assembles have been made and archived. In addition actual Bill of Materials are generated and compared to purchases proving actual usages. I am the first Cad Draftsman this company hired. There was not anyone before me and I have been given the added tasks of setting up a filing systems matching the current saving techniques. When I was hired Solid works 2014 was purchased as the Cad software program to meet the future needs of the company. I work by myself. Although Solid works has a good Help program with it, I also rely on the Solid works distributors to answer questions. These are the only resources I have at my disposal to get answers. Currently have just upgraded to Solid-Works 2018.
My tasks involve a lot of mechanical assembly drawings. The majority of these are started with detail drawings either downloading actual parts or acquiring specifications to draw the parts for representation. Specifying mounting hole locations and fasteners sizes are a lot part of my tasks. I constantly have to interact with production to document how projects were put together. I generally spend 8 hours a day with solid works. I consider myself be a capable solid works user but get more experienced every day. I have just completed the Solidworks Design 16 week Course at Lakeland Community college, earning a B.
8/ 1991 - 5/2012 - PMI Industries, INC; Cleveland, Ohio. PMI supplies its customers with engineered solutions to handling, anchoring and terminating cable (Electrical, hard wire, and Optic) systems for underwater deployment and research. Many times these solutions are designed and engineered from scratch. I was originally hired to support the physical test lab (hydrostatic pressure, line tension, and electrical testing). My Responsibilities at PMI grew to include but were not limited to the following additional tasks.
DESIGN ENGINEERING
Responsible for Support CAD Drafting (Mechanical Desktop, ACAD 2005 & Solid Works (2010 thru 2012 3D). `Skilled with Hand Board Drafting. Initially work was primarily redrawing hand markup drawings of mechanical vendor drawings as well as finished Assemblies in 2D formats. When Solid works was acquired I was trained in using it while still continuing to use ACAD.
Drawings were required for everything produced. All drawings were fully dimensioned (including tolerances) with Material treatments and finishes. This also included tooling which also had to be identified and eventually stored. Typical Materials for tooling was aluminum, steel, or Delran (plastic).
Responsible for Document Control of Hand and Electronic generated files for ten plus years. This included generating a release procedure for all controlled documents used until an electronic Vault was incorporated (2007) to control all files. This made the PDFs electronically accessible to PMIs work force. All hand drawings (6000) also were recorded into the data base as well as being scanned so they also could be viewed as a PDF. This system would eventually help PMI to meet the requirements to be ISO 9000 certified.
In addition to drafting I also generated many Internal How To procedures using Microsoft Word and many digital photographs.
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
At PMI, I was Product Manager for Dam/Blok Splice kits. This is a field installable kit to splice two or more pieces of cables together and Cast (seal) them in urethane. The result application created a water tight seal at ocean depth.
? This process started with gathering specs, generating a kit dwg, assembly procedure and generating required parts to sell to customer.
? I did this for about twenty years.
? Majority of all parts were made at PMI.
? I had to generate many written instructions and drawings how to make each required part.
? I was also responsible for generating cost sheet to determine pricing for each kit sold.

MANUFACTURING PMI also uses heat cured polyurethane to produce primarily Bending Strain Reliefs (BSRs). These are generally installed wherever the cable would be fastened to keep the cable from bending too sharply. Many types of these BSRs were made with helical steel rods in them. All of them required drawings to be generated as did anything made.
Responsibilities in Production was typically Hands ON experience in manufacturing any of the items including but not limited to mixing and casting polyurethane or working with cable systems.
Above average Use of Hand Power Tools, Pneumatic Tools, & Demolition tools.
Machine Shop Tools; Drill Press, Lathes, Milling Mach, Grinders, Sanders & Mag Drill.
Experienced in Mixing, Casting, and Curing of Urethanes & Epoxies.
Use of Test Measurement Equipment during Tension or Pressure Tests.
Lift Truck Operator; 10,000lb pneumatic with 18 foot vertical lift.
