Middlebury-Monterray Language Academy-I attended Middlebury’s rigorous month-long Spanish emersion academy my junior year of high school at the advanced level. This experience not only gave me strong friendships but also tremendous confidence in my Spanish-speaking ability.
Volunteer Experience
Internship with Court Appointed Special Advocates of Peoria County, IL-June-August 2017. At this internship I aided the CASA of PC team to re-structure their fundraising golf tournament in order to maximize profits, minimize costs through sponsorship, and reach a wider range of potential participants. CASA is a non-profit organization that trains and provides volunteers to get to know foster children on a personal level, hear their concerns, and address children’s wishes in Court. Though this organization is not yet a household name, it’s mission is crucial in the all too often broken system of foster care.
Blood Drive Host/Organizer- I have managed ten Blood Drives for American Red Cross and Life South, St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, and Peachtree Corners, December, 2012 – Present. A childhood cancer survivor myself, blood donation has always been a mission of mine. As a community-oriented individual, it fills me with pride to see my neighbors helping out those near and far, who more often than not they have never met.
Work Experience
E-bay Store January 2012-Present. I have run my own successful E-bay business selling consigned men’s, women’s, and children’s designer clothing. My responsibilities include sourcing clothing, listing items online, researching brand information, answering customers’ questions, and shipment.
Senior Citizen Assistant, Sandy Springs Residences June, 2014 – Present – I helped seniors and people recuperating from various injuries and illness to attend social functions, leave their homes to run errands, and generally feel included in the community when it was otherwise difficult.
