Dear Hiring Manager,
I was excited to hear about the opportunity to apply with your company in New York City. The idea of working in such a competitive industry is very intriguing. I am a student at Marymount Manhattan College during the fall and spring semesters, having the summer semester off. This would leave me available to work during the summer semester when I have no school and during the fall semester, around my school schedule. My hope for this job is to not only gain perspective and knowledge for myself, but to help your company in any way that I can.
Being a student in New York City has been an eye opening experience. Being a transfer third semester junior, and having come from a large university in Pennsylvania, school and learning in all aspects of my life has always been something I treasure. While studying here at Marymount Manhattan College, I am majoring in Digital Journalism. I apply myself in every class I take and maintain my grades, working hard in and out of class. I plan to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism in the Spring of 2021. I am able to adapt and learn quickly, picking up the necessary skills in every job I have. Besides going to school, back home I worked part time at a gym, interned at Perpetual Shade ‘The Shady Report’ blog and ran, and continue to run, Venus Rising Blog on the side. I work better having lots to do and lots to learn.
