Hello, my name is Ares Torres, I am a recent graduate from the University of California, Riverside. I plan to get an MD/MBA a be a health care leader. I plan to apply for medical school for Fall 2021.

JULY 8– AUGUST 30, 2019 VOLUNTEER FOR IME, MEXICAN GOVERNMENT (INSTITUTO DE LOS MEXICANOS EN EL EXTERIOR) PROVIDED MY VOLUNTEERING SERVICES IN AN ISLAND CALLED LA PACANDA, MICHOACÁN - I learned to work in groups to tackle different social economic and health problems that affect the state of Michoacán in a small scale through La Pacanda. - Worked with and collaborated with the native people (Purepecha people) in La Pacanda to come to conclusions on the best way to tackle the health problems facing La Pacanda such as the high rate of diabetes in older the older generations on the island, and the lack of a doctor on the island in case of health emergencies
OCTOBER 2018– NOW VOLUNTEER, CASA COLINA HOSPITAL - In charge of directing patients to and from the Pre-surgery room to recovery room. - Answer request of patients via phone- camera system using Voalte and directing their nurses to the room of the patients in need of assistance. - Keeping supplies in various locations around the hospital in order; such as returning wheelchairs to their proper location and maintaining personal protection equipment in stock.

- Led my co-workers in organizing the store and keeping day to day activities running smoothly. - Oversaw warehouse organization - Created systems that allowed for more efficient organization of appliances. - Made sure orders were met and properly filed. - In charge of building and assembling household goods such as tables, grills, patio sets lawn mowers etc.
