SKILLS
With a Bachelor’s degree in English, I have exceptional writing and grammatical skills. As an educator, I edit student work and teach proper grammar mechanics on a daily basis. In addition, my communication skills are excellent, as I have an ear for listening to what people need from me, and am able to communicate my thoughts, questions, or input in a coherent and understanding manner depending on who I am speaking with. I have the ability to write creatively for a variety of audiences and settings, my tone and diction varying depending on what is asked of me. I have outstanding research skills that I use inside and outside of the classroom. I research different content for my classroom studies as well as teach students how to look for reliable sources in order to answer questions posed in daily lessons. I also use Google Drive on a daily basis as well as Microsoft Office.

· Became a High Impact Teacher for the 2017-2018 School Year, an award that a small percentage of teachers in Florida are awarded each year for their hard work with their students and capability to bring students’ test scores up beyond the state’s average proficiency scores.
· Lighthouse Coordinator (for the Leader In Me program 2017-2019) – in charge of ensuring that the 7 Habits are habitually used in and out of the classroom by students and staff. Organizes meetings with other admin and staff to make sure we are on track in utilizing the habits with students in the classroom.
· Thinking Maps trainer (2017 – 2019) I use thinking maps in the classroom as well as give professional education trainings for staff new to the school.
· Creates weekly lesson plans for both ELA teachers in 8th grade, while differentiating the lessons for both advanced and intensive classes, as well as assists other ELA teachers in creating their plans.
· Works in tandem with the rest of the 8th grade team and administration to help coordinate 8th grade activities and functions throughout the year.
· Attends frequent workshops for professional development including Leader In Me, Thinking Maps and other smaller workshops hosted by administrators from Charter School USA.

· Tailored weekly lesson plans to students depending on their age and English knowledge level
· Administered students’ pre-assessments to place them in classes that corresponded with their ELL level.
· Monitored individual students’ progress throughout the year and collaborated with other teachers to discuss plans of action to further each student’s English grammar skills and comprehension of simple literature.
