International Buddhist Progress Society, Flushing - Volunteer as a member of the Young Adult Division Group
Secretary of the Young Adult Division Group 1 beginning January 2019.
• Through this group, I was able to gain communication skills through working on and planning projects and events together.
• As secretary, I make spreadsheets, send out emails about events, and I also maintain the group’s google drive. I attend meetings, and take notes.
• I volunteered as a counselor one year of summer camp. I acquired the ability to respond to change and to work together as a team. As a counselor, I lived upstate for 5 days with children and learned to take the initiative and lead by example.
• Currently, we are planning a North America Regional Conference that will take place in New York in 2021.

Summer Camp Executive: Administration Co-leader
• I work on the administration and documentation team for our annual summer camp. I obtained designing skills and I was able to become more organized through prioritizing what needs to be done first. This is a 5 day summer camp with 70 children and around 50 staff. Preparation for summer camp begins in January of each year in order to ensure that we prepare everything that is needed: from schedules, to handbooks, to materials, to room arrangements, to budget, to screening volunteers and campers. I taught some arts and crafts classes, and I also plan the crafts for each summer camp and learned the value of patience and organization. I learned more about Microsoft Office through this position since I make handbooks, nametags, and journal entries with Microsoft Office.

Alley Pond Environmental Center - Volunteer
• I worked alongside a teacher in a junior environmental education class.
• Here, I was able to gain leadership skills and was able to communicate well with children.
• Volunteering in an environmental center gave me the ability to respond to sudden changes because oftentimes, there were situations that happened. If there was a child that did not feel well, I would bring them to the office and call their parents.
