WORK AND VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE

Shanghai Normal University Tianhua College (2018 to 2019)I lived in Shanghai, China and taught for a branch of Shang-hai Normal University. The titles of the courses I taught are as follows: Composition as Critical Inquiry, English Composition 1, Critical Reading and Writing, and Literature.

Author (2016 to present)A poem of mine was published in Volume CXXXII of Prism, Oregon State Universitys premier art and literary journal. In the winter of 2016, I self-published a short nonfiction narrative, which I am currently adapting into a longer work. I am also an affiliate of Z Publishing House; they have published four of my works: 1) Winterbourne in Oregons Best Emerging Poets: An Anthology (December 2017), Half Price on Direct Ascensions in Americas Best Emerging Poets: An Anthology (July 2018), The Twenty-Eighth of July in Americas Emerging Writers: An Anthology of Nonfiction (November 2018), and Ive Been Revising This Poem for Two Years in Americas Emerging Poets 2018: Pacific Region (December)

Antioch House (A Christian fraternity in Corvallis, Oregon)

1) Vice President (2017 to 2018)I led the officers of Antioch House, facilitated Sunday and Monday night meetings, resolved conflict, answered questions, and made administrative decisions that affected the overall health and direction of the House and her members.

2) Community Service Chair (2015 to 2016)I found opportunities for members of the House to serve in the Corvallis community. I also organized our weekly Friday Night Worship by selecting a music team and a speaker for the event.

3) Small Group Leader (2015 to 2017)In this position, I watched over and encouraged the social, mental, and spiritual growth of six of my Housemates. We met every week to study the Bible and to talk about our life successes and failures. I prepared lessons and activities for these meetings and acted as a counselor, friend, and confidante.

Middle School WyldLife Leader (2015 to 2016)Twice a week, I went to Franklin School during their lunch to develop positive relationships with WyldLife students. Once a week, I prepared and taught a lesson to a group of four to eight students at a Sharis Restaurant. Once a month, I led games and discussions at the Corvallis WyldLife Club event. I also went to summer camp with two Franklin students.

Cascades Camp and Conference Center (Summer 2014 and 2016)As a camp counselor, I led cabins of children, ages 6-16, through the week-long routine of meals, games, songs, lessons, and adventures. I also served on the operations/custodial team by working to maintain the high standard of cleanliness held by this organization.
