SUMMARY
I am a mechanical engineering graduate with experience in CAD modeling, thermal, and structural analyses. I have applied these concepts in design optimization, finite element analysis. I have been involved in manufacturing processes using 3D printing and laser cutting. I also have been involved in designing efficient engineering experiments using concepts from the Design of Experiments-DOE and familiar with six sigma concepts.

Aug. 2018 – May 2020 | GPA 3.24
Bachelor of Technology, Aerospace Engineering | Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, Coimbatore
July 2013 – May 2017 | GPA 7.22

TECHNICAL SKILLS
FEA, Autodesk Inventor, Design Optimization, Design of Experiments-DOE, JMP Pro, Matlab, Mathematica, 3D Printing, Laser cutting, Microsoft Office Suite, HP ALM

EXPERIENCE
Volunteer-Mechanical Design Engineer | Wheelchair Labs Inc, Glendale, AZ June 2020 - Current
•Focused on designing improvements for wheelchairs to reduce cost, increase ease of assembly, and prolong battery life as part of a multidisciplinary team
•Gathered stakeholders’ requirements by interviewing, and integrated them as changes and improvements into the existing design
•Started working on designing a better battery pack using Lithium Iron Phosphate prismatic cells

ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Heat Transfer Analysis of Thin Plate | Arizona State University Jan. 2020 – May 2020
•Lead a 2-member team towards the objective of writing a finite element code in Matlab for analyzing 2D heat transfer in a thin-plate subject to flame impingement
•Results compared with those from Abaqus, with an error of 2.343%

Design of Experiments (DOE) in Laser Cutting Process | Arizona State University
Aug. 2019 - Dec. 2019
Utilized full factorial design experiment for validating and finding which factors dominantly directly effect the quality of the cutting process
Technologies used: Laser cutter VLS 6.60, JMP pro for DOE and ANOVA

Design Optimization of Disc Brake | Arizona State University Aug. 2019 - Oct. 2019
•Focused on finding an optimal design for a multi-clutch plate with the primary objectives of minimizing the brake disc volume and minimizing maximum stress in the brake disc
•Utilized ANSYS for conducting FEA-Stress analysis and DOE

Thermal Analysis of Composite Model | Arizona State University Jul. 2019 - Aug. 2019
•Developed a Model for a 2D composite bar made out of material PbSn and Cu(3%Al)
•Studied temperature distribution of the composite model using Abaqus and determined a way to analytically calculate the effective thermal conductivity of a composite 2D bar as a function of material composition in a steady-state

Additive Manufacturing | Arizona State University Jan. 2019 - Apr. 2019
•Studied the process involving Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) using a 3D printer by modeling a component (piston rod)
•Technologies used are MakerBot Replicator plus for 3D Printer, MakerBot for slicer software, Autodesk Inventor for CAD model and the material used is ABS plastic

Dynamic Analysis of Flange joints | Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University Mar. 2016 - May 2017
•Investigated the behavior of bolted flange joint by generating a model for the joint, which includes friction and bolt preload
•Performed modal analysis and stress analysis in Ansys on the flange joint also studied how the stiffness of the flange joint changes, the behavior of the flange joint under the impact, and simulated coupling vibrations
