Raymond Nagro
Education
Iowa State University, College of Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Power and Machinery Graduation May 2021. GPA: 3.13/4.0
Relevant Coursework through December 2019: Engineering Statics, Dynamics, Engineering Systems Design (Creo Parametric, Solidworks), MATLAB Programming, and Project Management & Design
Professional Work Experience
CO-OP with CNH Industrial, St. Nazianz Wi, May 2019- April 2020
World Class Manufacturing CO-OP, worked on 2 major projects for Ag Sprayer Machine Production
Project 1 Goal: Learned and applied principles of the Toyota Production System to improve production throughput while decreasing the cost of production. Focused on eliminating the types of deviations related to inefficient allocation of resources: Muda, Muri, Mura, GZA, and SZA.
• Gained 333% efficiency
• Reduced $84,078 of direct labor savings
Project 2 Goal: Helped led a process transformation team during production shutdown
• Trained assembly workforce on video analysis techniques
• Completed analysis of all production line assembly activities in several zones.
• Outputs used for new work instructions resulting and improved flow in re-arranged process
Side Project: Eliminated the use of ladders to improve safety and increase productivity
• Researched and specified a hydraulic man lift, made by companies like Crown, JLG and Skyjack.
• Set up supplier meetings and led the selection process.
HydraForce Inc, Lincolnshire IL, May 2018 - August 2018
Manufacturing Engineering Intern, worked on two major projects.
Project 1 Goal: Determine root cause 08/07/2018and corrective action for proportional valve production line failures. Through DMAIC Six Sigma problem solving, it was determined that a supplier welding process was at fault. Specific accomplishments performed during the project included:
• Designed test fixtures and tooling using Creo engineering design software.
• Conducted correlation studies, using Minitab to chart the six-pack process capability charts.
Project 2 Goal: Assist with the pilot run of a new valve design, EHPR08-33. Production readiness activities included:
• Measured critical valve component dimensions and surface finish, prior to assembly with Laser Micrometers and Mitutoyo SJ-410, and compared results to design parameters.
• Assisted production assembly and ran complete hydraulic and electronic performance tests, recording results for analysis.
Other Work Employment
• January 2019- January 2020 – Peer mentor within ABE Department at Iowa State University
Provide support, advice, and encouragement to incoming ABE freshman.
