HANOVER INSURANCE AGENCY

The level one auto claims department is a team of 14 employees that handles inbound and outbound calls. The main duties include reviewing the coverage on a policy with the insured as it relates to their claim, setting them up for an appraisal, explaining their rental coverage, filtering emails from the insured, appraisers and agents and responding in an appropriate time frame. Other duties include listening to voicemails and responding within four business hours and identifying claims that do not belong in the level one department and re-leveling them appropriately.

HILTON GARDEN INN

Check people in and out of the hotel. Charge pantry items to their room. Take in cash and count the cash drawers. Print daily reports. Answer all phone calls with a pleasant demeanor and answer all questions to the best of your ability. Put people on hold and/or forward them to the various departments.

Sweep and vacuum hard surface floors and carpeted floors, mop hard surface floors, dust horizontal and vertical surfaces, clean restrooms including toilets, clean interior and exterior glass, operate and maintain equipment such as vacuum cleaners, remove trash and replace liners, and report maintenance issues to supervisor.

EDUCATION

Interdisciplinary Studies is a degree in which the student can personalize what he/she is studying to learn the inter-relationships amongst those disciplines, as well as allowing that student to become competent in multiple fields through the senior capstone project.

INTERNSHIPS
Law Firm in Maryland: I had a brief internship of two week during the summer of August 2017 in which I shadowed an attorney named CT Wilson over the summer. I was able to see first hand the work that goes into preparing for court, as well as some hands on experience in helping his assistant to organize paperwork.

Highlands Lifecare Facility: Working in the activities department on the Alzheimer’s floor. I ran a chorus activity in which I taught some residents who were not very far into the disease 3 songs. Through a positive attitude and making it fun, I was able to teach that group of residents the songs, and we were able to put on a mini concert for the rest of the staff members after the 13-week semester was over.

LEADERSHIP
A Cappella Choir Music Liaison: An elected executive board position. This position plays warm-ups and assists the president in teaching the music during rehearsals.

A Cappella Choir President: An elected executive board position. Arranges most of the music, runs rehearsals, plans on/ off campus events and is the liaison between the club and staff and faculty and members of the community on and off campus. This position also involves keeping all the paperwork for the club organized, such as the sheet music and collaboration paperwork, which has information about the other club(s) or organization that the club is partnering with for an event.

Campus Run Leadership Retreat: Spring 2016, attended as a participant to better my skills as a student leader.

Campus Run Leadership Retreat: Spring 2017, attended as part of the LEAD team. Facilitated and ran various groups geared towards leadership, accepting weaknesses and using them to your advantage.
