Piano, Organ, Conducting
Piano, Organ, Conducting

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

today I saw your job advertisement at indeed.

My name is Christoph Hintermüller. I was born in Unna in 1993 and am currently studying pipe organ performance (Master) at the University of North Texas in Denton.

Of course, I am from Germany were I received my bachelor degree in church music (which means pipe organ performance, piano performance, singing as well conducting). Last year in August I moved to Denton to finish my studies with Prof. Dr. Jesse Eschbach. I am holding also the position as Teaching Assistant for organ at UNT. This position is normally reserved for doctoral students. Currently I am also principal organist in Northridge Presbyterian Church in Dallas.

From September 2016 to March 2017 I did a semester abroad and studied pipe organ performance at the UCLA (Los Angeles) with Prof. Christoph Bull. So, have received important impulses for working in churches in the United States. One of my focus are American organ music. Unfortunately, this music is completely unknown in Europe.

Apart my studies in Germany, I was working in several positions as an organist and as a church conductor, too. You can find all details in my CV. I played there more than 200 services every year ( and that for over 10 years). Furthermore, I taught students in piano and organ playing.

Also, I have played organ recitals around the world: Los Angeles, New York, Germany, London, Norway, Austria etc.

It is my strongly believe that students need to get qualified music lessons when there are young. I can report from personal experiences because my first teacher didn’t look at technique and “fun” in lessons. I felt the consequences of this for a long time during my studies until I got a teacher who was able to solve this problem. Since then I share my knowledge at university (Teaching Assistant) and as well in private lessons. Apart of this I am visiting several lectures about musician healthiness. Even UNT provide one of the most important departments in the US to topic. Also, this topic plays an important role in my teaching method.

Even if I am international student, I have a working permission and can work off campus if there is a close relationship to my study.

Looking forward to hearing from you
Kind regards

Christoph Hintermüller
