Projects
Design and Development of a Rigorous Conduction Test for Fire Attack Hoses WPI, Sept. 2015 – May 2016
• Completely re-designed the current NFPA 1961 Conduction Test for Fire Attack Hoses and addressed previous issues with the test fixture such as repeatability, reliability and a constant temperature
• Filed a provisional patent for the new fixture while the NFPA reviews the fixture

Fire Attack Hose Burn-Through WPI, Nov. 2014 – May 2015
• Researched Fire Attack Hoses Burn-Throughs and the impact they have on the fire community
• Created first national database that tracks fire attack hose burn-throughs and allows first responders to report a burn-through
• Results from the study has been used to drive national code changes (NFPA), improve firefighter safety, and develop the next generation of fire attack hoses
