I was a team leader on my Relay for life team (non profit Organization). I had to talk to many different people and convince them to buy some of our team's clothing, accessories, food, etc. This position taught me much about conversation and meeting the customer's needs.
I was also a team member for a non profit organization called Give2Friends. This position taught me how to cooperate with fellow team members and how to get the job done efficiently and effectively within a team.
I was also part of a mentorship program in my high school, where I showed younger kids how to stay on course and succeed in high school. I learned how to be a great leader and it also taught me about problem solving and helping my mentee with his unique problems in high school tenure.
I also was a part of the school newspaper and with my position I had tobe able to communicate with the editor and other writers and dividing up the articles, choosing which ones would go in the paper, as well as being able to receive and give criticism on papers. I specifically wrote about the school’s sports teams and also different events going on at school.
I also worked at Macy’s for a few months before heading off to school. My job entailed unloading pickup trucks, putting clothes on correct racks. And then ultimately setting them up in the designated areas in the store.
