I am a senior neuroscience student with experience in clinical research and medical administration. Working toward a medical degree, I am active in spheres promoting mental health and combatting socioeconomic gradients in health.

EXPERIENCE

DIRECTOR OF GRAPHIC DESIGN | NATIONAL CLINICS COLLABORATIVE JUNE 2020 – PRESENT
To combat the COVID-19 pandemic, I joined the NCC to connect disadvantaged and low-income members of the community to free clinics across the country. As the newly appointed Director of Graphic Design for the collaborative, I am beginning to draft the marketing and branding of the NCC to help propel our goals and spread our reach. Working to foster partnerships between medical schools, clinics, and patients, my contribution as a member of the collaborative and on the marketing side will hopefully make strides in our goals expanding the reach of medical care as much we can remotely.

TRANSCULTURAL MENTAL HEALTH INTERN | CENTRE FOR DISABILITY RESEARCH AND POLICY FEBRUARY 2020 – JUNE 2020
While on exchange at the University of Sydney, I began working with Dr. Nicola Hancock, the creator of the RAS-DS assessment scale for mental health recovery, on translating the scale into Bengali. Our work was aimed at broadening the scope of mental health care delivery, extending across cultures, religions, and language, incorporating local nuances of mental health stigma to convey the most accurate information.

BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH INTERN | NANO GLOBAL INC. OCTOBER 2019 – JANUARY 2020
During my internship at the Nano headquarters in Austin, Texas, I worked on a team building an artificial intelligence healthcare app. I synthesized academic research papers for content writers for the app. On this task, I researched biomedical topics of puberty, sexuality and disability, pain management, sleep and air quality, sleep apnea, and sleep aids.

USER RESEARCH INTERN | NANO GLOBAL INC. AUGUST 2019 – OCTOBER 2019
My introduction to Nano’s goals included recruiting users for testing the AI-driven aspect of the healthcare app. Upon beginning, I conducted market landscape analyses over apps aimed to lessen stress and anxiety. I interviewed research participants with self-reported stress and anxiety as well as organized meetings with mental health providers, including therapists, psychiatrists, counsellors, and researchers for subject matter interviews. Similarly, I synthesized interview and meeting notes into keynote presentations for broader team proposal.

PSYCHIATRIC ASSISTANT | AUSTIN FAMILY PSYCHIATRY APRIL 2019 – DECEMBER 2019
My role at Austin Family Psychiatry included medical receptionist duties, checking in patients, recording vital measurements, and more. I am familiar with Valant EMR and DrChrono EHR systems to manage appointments and patient records. I coordinated with a physician, nurse practitioner, physician’s assistant, and counsellor with evaluating new patients. I processed insurance, collected co-payments, and similar private practice administrative duties.

DESIGN EDITOR | THE DAILY TEXAN JANUARY 2018 – MAY 2019
I managed a team of 15 designers to design and assemble the University of Texas at Austin’s official daily newspaper. In this role, I collaborated with department heads, newspaper advisor, and Texas Student Media management. As editor, I designed and directed special issues including the “Welcome Back”, “SXSW Festival”, and “Year in Review”. I began at the paper a year earlier, being promoted from Issue Designer, Senior Designer, then finally the management position of Design Editor.
