I Majored in English with minors in History and Journalism. While at Concordia, I took courses in art history, film studies, theology, creative writing, memoir, scriptwriting, stagecraft, theater studies, and literature, among others. I worked for the School paper and served on the LGBTQ clubs board for two semesters.

Work Experience

2016 – 2018 WRITER, TALKING COMICS As a writer for Talking Comics, I wrote reviews for single issues and trade paperback comics. This my first real writing experience outside of an academic setting.

2017 – 2020 STAFF WRITER, THE SWORD NEWSPAPER As a staff writer, I took on article assignments for each issue and was expected to turn them into my editor in seven days. I was responsible for finding, pitching, and gathering everything that was necessary to complete a story. My most frequent work was for the Arts and Varieties section, where I covered film, plays, Local art events, music events, and the like.

2019 – 2020 ART AND VARIETIES EDITOR, THE SWORD NEWSPAPER As an Editor I was responsible for researching potential article topics and keeping writers accountable for the articles they volunteered for. As articles were submitted to me, I was responsible for looking them over and then passing them along to my editor in chief.

2019 Co-Author of a chapter on cyberpunk in comics, The Routledge Companion to Cyberpunk Culture

2019– CURRENT EDITORIAL ASSISTANT, Speculative Fiction section of the Los Angles Review of Books My duties are to research and contact potential contributors to the magazine and request review copies from publishers for contributors. I also frequently read publishers’ catalogs for potential books the magazine may want to review.
